Nell Gywnn
Above the main entrance, at the level of the 2nd floor, is a statue of Nell Gwynn with a Cavalier King Charles spaniel at her feet. It is believed to be the only statue of a royal mistress anywhere in the capital city.

(1892–1982) A portrait of actress Daisy Burrell by Bassano around 1911. The famous actress of the silent film era starred in The Valley of Fear (1916), an early Sherlock Holmes film, Little Women (1917) and many others.

Vera Atkins CBE
(1908–2000) Romanian-born British Intelligence Officer who worked in the French Section of Britain's covert Special Operations Executive during World War II. Atkins recruited and trained more than 400 secret agents to fight the Nazis.
